DescriptionKey Accountability:
Operate and maintain hot water and steam boilers in a safe and efficient manner: troubleshoot and repair minor malfunctions; perform chemical tests and regulate chemical feeds and blow downs; perform plumbing and electrical work on and around the boilers; inspect and repair steam fixtures such as traps, valves, reducers, strainers and coils etc. Start, stop and switch over boilers.
Operate and maintain chillers and air conditioners: troubleshoot minor malfunctions and assist in finding and repairing leaks in the system.
Perform duties such as repair and overhaul of equipment. Perform minor electrical work. Assure that all electrical tests are fully documented.
Assist in the maintenance and up keep of shop drawings, record files, service manuals and parts manuals. Requisition s parts and supplies for completing approved work orders and assignments.
Assists with painting, plastering, carpentry, ceiling and floor tiles installations and minor remodeling. Maintain PM program and keep current with projects and work requests.
Maintain all required records, reports, statistics etc. Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and maintain a clean and organized work areas.
Assists with yard work with mowing, weed eating and snow removal, when groundskeeper is sick or on vacation we will do the duties for the groundskeeper. Perform other duties as assigned. Works independently with minimal supervision needed.
Follow all Hospital Safety standards and participate in Safety training. Maintain professional growth and development. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attend as required.
Develop a proactive mindset toward the job. Observes opportunities for improvement, formulates ideas, communicates those ideas with their supervisor/manager and/or other staff, and carries out variations in work habits in continuous quality improvement.

Reporting may be made in person or in writing to supervisor or manager, Compliance Officer or verbally through the Compliance Reporting Line (ext.
5442).
Basic Clarke County Hospital (CCH) Performance Criteria:
Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance. Demonstrates the ability to utilize Life Safety Code and NFPA Code to create a safe and compliant facility for patient care.
High School or better.
