Job Description Qualifications- Hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous work experience preferred
- Be able to lift at least 70 pounds
- Have an excellent work ethic, ability to work well with others
- Physically able to climb ladders, bend and/or squat, or crawl into awkward or high spaces
Reports To: District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations
Position Goal: To maintain the district facilities in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness so that full educational use can be made of them.
Supervises: No one
Performance Responsibilities- Keeps buildings and grounds neat and clean on a regular schedule, and at other times as necessary.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Considerable knowledge of facilities and cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
- Takes direction from District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Assists as required when assigned to evening activities.
- Ensure district facilities are cleaned and maintained.
- Performs building checks as assigned including weekends and holidays by the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Maintains district facilities on weekends as needed, per activity schedules and assigned by the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Performs grounds work such as tree trimming, landscaping, weed pulling and weed eating as necessary, to maintain the district grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
- Reports immediately to the building principal and Maintenance Technician any damages to district buildings and/or grounds.
- Performs minor repairs in heating, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance with direction from District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Moves equipment and supplies within the buildings, and on the grounds, as required by various activities as directed.
- Assure ALL District entrance doors, exits and sidewalks are clear of snow and ice at all times.
- Performs all duties on a daily checklist as assigned by the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Knowledge of how to safely use, post notice, and dispose of chemicals.
- Follows and embodies the district's missions, vision, and belief statements.
- Maintains and reports inventory of all custodial supplies needed, in a timely manner to the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
- Other duties as assigned by the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations to meet the needs of the district.
Terms of Employment: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate as per the negotiated contract and other benefits. 260-day contract at 8 hours of work per day, shift and schedule to be determined by the District Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Operations.
