Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision of maintenance technicians and supporting the construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation of Mineral Ridge Gold's processing facility and site services. This role ensures mechanical, electrical, facilities, and site services maintenance work is planned, scheduled, and executed safely, on time, and in compliance with MSHA and company standards, while directly supervising crew performance and coaching technicians in the field across the site.
Key Responsibilities Supervision & Crew Management- Directly supervise maintenance technicians, mechanics, and electricians across assigned shifts, including 7‑on/7‑off crew rotations.
- Assign daily and weekly work orders, balancing preventive maintenance schedules against breakdown/reactive repair priorities.
- Conduct pre‑shift safety meetings (toolbox talks); verify permits (lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space) are properly executed.
- Monitor crew attendance, timekeeping, and shift handoff communication in coordination with payroll records.
- Provide first‑line performance feedback, coaching, and disciplinary input to the Maintenance Manager and HR.
- Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) program execution on mobile and fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and associated processing infrastructure.
- Prioritize and coordinate emergency and breakdown repairs to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Manage parts and materials needs with the Warehouse/Supply Chain team, including expediting critical spares.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work order history, and equipment logs (CMMS or equivalent tracking).
- Support commissioning, installation, and turnover of new equipment and site infrastructure.
- Enforce MSHA Part 48 training and safety standards across all maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, machine guarding, and safe work practices; report and investigate near‑mises and incidents.
- Partner with the EHS Manager on hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with Processing and Construction to align maintenance windows with production and project schedules.
- Communicate shift priorities and equipment status through the Slack weekly manager planner and daily handoff reports.
- Escalate resource, staffing, or budget constraints to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity, preferably in mining, heavy industrial, or processing environments.
- MSHA Part 48B certification required.
- Ability to work and live onsite at a remote mining operation.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Technical/trade certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems.
- Experience with CMMS platforms and digital work order systems.
- Ability to traverse rugged, uneven mine site terrain, including inclines and unpaved surfaces.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and dust.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Comfortable wearing required PPE for extended periods, including respirators when necessary.
- Comfortable working in confined and elevated spaces on active industrial equipment.
This role is based on site at Mineral Ridge Gold’s Silver Peak operation, a remote processing facility in rural Nevada. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across active industrial areas, exposing the employee to extreme heat, cold, dust, noise, and uneven terrain. The position follows a 4/3 schedule, and onsite mancamp housing and meals are provided while on shift. The employee must be able to respond to maintenance and safety needs across the site, including during off‑shift hours when operational demands require.
The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet ongoing operational needs.
