Shenandoah River State Park is accepting applications for a Housekeeping Ranger position.
Job SummaryThe primary focus of the Housekeeping Ranger includes proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses, and other park facilities.
Key Duties And Responsibilities- Efficient turnover of overnight facilities before check-in time
- Proper cleaning of restrooms, bathhouses, and other facilities
- Keep chases and linen building organized and stocked
- Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand, bend, and work outdoors exposed to the elements
- Must be able to perform a variety of cleaning tasks and tolerate contact with a variety of cleaning products and solutions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to work and interact well with other staff and park guests
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety practices related to the work site
- Previous experience working in a housekeeping or janitorial setting is preferred
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own
- Ability to work well with other staff and park guests

Employment in all Virginia State Parks positions is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check. - Employment Eligibility:
Selected candidates must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify. - Driver’s License Requirement: A valid State Driver's License is required if operating a state or personal vehicle for agency business.
- Work Requirements:
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
