Job SummaryThe Trades Tech I position is primarily responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, facilities, grounds, and trails, as as well as assisting with special projects as needed.
Key Duties And Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, yurts, facilities, grounds, and trails, including stocking supplies, collecting trash, mowing, and weed trimming.
- Operate a variety of hand tools and cleaning tools, including hammers, hand saws, pruners, loppers, shovels, mops, brooms, and dusters.
- Operate power tools and equipment such as weed eaters, pressure washers, blowers, circular saws, reciprocating saws, drills, vacuum cleaners, and lawn mowers.
- Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on all assigned tools and equipment.
- Interact professionally with the public by answering questions, providing information, and offering general assistance as needed.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Experience cleaning and maintaining restrooms and/or facilities.
- Experience operating landscape or grounds-maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to follow establish procedures, take direction, interact positively with staff, volunteers, and visitors, and consistently produce high-quality work.
- Experience providing customer service to the public.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., hike trails of varying surfaces, and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience working in a park, outdoor recreation, or similar field experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
- Experience performing basic small engine repairs and maintenance.

- Employment Eligibility:
Selected candidates must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify. - Driver’s License Requirement: A valid State Driver's License is required if operating a state or personal vehicle for agency business.
- Work Requirements:
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
