Maintenance Supervisor, Ventura Coastal, LLC | Tipton, CA Compensation $79,000 - $86,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, plus performance bonus opportunity.

Ventura Coastal is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance activities in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring production equipment, building systems, and plant facilities operate safely, reliably, and at maximum efficiency.

The Maintenance Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership to a unionized maintenance team, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, support plant operations, and promote a strong culture of safety, food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and provides direct supervision to union maintenance mechanics, a maintenance lead, and yard support personnel. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for effectively leading employees in a union environment and working in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Company policies, and established work rules.

Schedule:

Candidates must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. The normal schedule for this position includes Saturdays and Sundays.

What You'll DoLead, train, coach, and develop union maintenance mechanics and other assigned maintenance employees to safely and effectively perform their responsibilities.

Provide day-to-day supervision of union employees while consistently applying Company policies, work rules, and applicable provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).Develop and communicate daily and weekly maintenance schedules to ensure appropriate support for plant operations.

Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and minimize production downtime.

Utilize and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and maintenance priorities.

Troubleshoot and support maintenance of motors, pumps, compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, and food processing equipment.

Partner with plant management and operations supervisors to identify, prioritize, and resolve equipment and maintenance issues.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure maintenance employees comply with applicable safety requirements and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).Ensure maintenance employees comply with all food safety, quality, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements.

Maintain appropriate inventory levels for tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies to support plant needs.

Provide employees with regular positive and constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.

Partner with Human Resources and plant leadership to address employee relations matters, performance concerns, attendance issues, and corrective action involving union employees, as appropriate.

Maintain awareness of Critical Control Points (CCPs) within assigned areas and ensure appropriate food safety documentation and escalation of food safety or quality concerns.

Interact professionally with employees, union representatives, customers, vendors, contractors, and visitors.

Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and a positive leadership approach.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For At least two years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably within a citrus, food processing, beverage, or similar manufacturing environment.

Experience supervising employees in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.

Experience working with and applying a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including established work rules and employee relations procedures, is preferred.

Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance, including motors, pumps, compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, and food processing equipment.

Experience leading, training, coaching, and motivating maintenance employees.

Experience developing maintenance schedules and coordinating work based on production and operational priorities.

Experience working with and optimizing CMMS/work order systems.

Strong understanding of preventive maintenance principles and equipment reliability.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as experience working with large ERP or similar business systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize and clearly communicate plans, priorities, and expectations.

Ability to effectively manage changing priorities, troubleshoot problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial refrigeration technology is highly preferred.
