Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment. This position oversees maintenance personnel, ensures equipment reliability, supports production goals, and promotes a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment.

• Supervise, direct, and support maintenance technicians and other maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work based on production needs and equipment conditions.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment issues.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and assist with complex equipment repairs.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, downtime, parts usage, and equipment history.
• Coordinate planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment installations.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to address equipment and process issues.
• Assist with developing maintenance procedures, PM schedules, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, controls, and automated systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new or upgraded manufacturing equipment.
• Track maintenance metrics and use downtime and repair data to identify recurring problems and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring equipment failures.
• Train, coach, and develop maintenance employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet applicable safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Assist with budgeting, contractor coordination, and maintenance planning as needed.
