Environmental Services Director

Environmental Services Director Stewart Memorial Community Hospital – Lake City, IARESPONSIBILITIESManage housekeeping and laundry activities and department operations to ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and quality assurance programs. Oversee cleaning procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Other responsibilities include:

Train and instruct personnel on new equipment, cleaning techniques, and proper use of cleaning agents.

Prepare work schedules, assigning personnel, and evaluating performance.

Inspect project areas for quality assurance and adherence to established policies.

Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and oversee their replacement.

Ensure compliance with hospital infection control and HIPAA confidentiality policies.

Perform housekeeping duties in rotation with staff.

Responsible for organizing, cleaning and using judgement in the handling of sorting soiled hospital linens. Ability to manager the washers, dryers and flat iron to meet the needs of the hospital and clinics.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior supervisory or leadership experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
