Temporary Building Maintenance Worker
Under supervision, incumbents perform unskilled building maintenance tasks on a regular and continuing basis or, under close supervision, perform as trainees within the series. Assignments are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Normally receives detailed instructions on all newly assigned work. Performs ongoing routine assignments with general supervision.
Temporary Senior Building Maintenance WorkerUnder supervision, incumbents perform semi‑skilled building maintenance tasks on a regular and continuing basis in one or more of the trades. Works on operational and/or procedural assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving procedural issues. Makes recommendations to improve processes and/or procedures.
What It Takes to be Successful- Temp BMW:
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations. - Temp BMW:
Basic mechanical aptitude. - Temp BMW:
Basic ability to perform unskilled building maintenance work. - Temp BMW: 1-3 years of experience completing minor repairs, fabrication, and renovations in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Temp Sr. BMW:
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations. - Temp Sr. BMW:
Strong mechanical aptitude. - Temp Sr. BMW:
Demonstrated ability to perform semi‑skilled building maintenance work. - Temp Sr. BMW: 3-5 years of experience completing minor repairs, fabrication, and renovations in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour. In addition to the salary range listed below, benefits may include medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to a number of discounts and perks.

Temporary EmploymentThis is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Some temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.
The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. Occasional part‑time, weekend, and evening hours may also be available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
