This position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems for the plant, providing power for machines, equipment, lighting, and facilities in accordance with codes, regulations, and safety specifications.
Responsibilities- Performs scheduled maintenance on facilities equipment and systems
- Repairs malfunctions of machines, systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Routinely checks machinery and systems for signs of faults to prevent or minimize downtime and interruptions
- Initiates improvements to the functionality of facilities equipment and systems to increase efficiency
- Senior position may act as a team leader to ensure work meets agreed targets by directly overseeing team members
- Demonstrates knowledge of field policies, procedures, and practices
- Documents activities accordingly
- Mounts components on chassis or panels in proper sequence; installs and connects wiring harnesses to terminals; energizes and tests circuits; adjusts and calibrates units for proper operation and reliable service
- Evaluates critical situations, consults with supervisory staff, and proposes corrective actions
Education & Experience
- High school diploma/GED
- 8+ years of related experience
Preferred Qualifiers
- Associate’s or technical degree
- Electrical license or certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced working knowledge of a technical field/area of specialization; exercises general application of principles, theories, and concepts; proposes courses of action; performs master-level shop floor competencies
- Knowledge and experience working with electrical systems ranging from 24 volts up to 4 kV
- Works under general supervision; may periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of peers
- Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers; frequent contact with external contractors/vendors
- Uses appropriate PPE as required and testing equipment, including but not limited to multimeters, amp probes, power recording devices, and power quality meters
- Moderate work – exerting up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects
- Frequently: reaching upward and downward, pushing/pulling, standing
- Occasionally: climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling/crawling, sitting, stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, reaching upward and downward, seeing, standing, talking, walking
- Frequently: pushing/pulling, reaching upward and downward, seeing (depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision), standing, talking (ordinary, loud, and quick), walking
- Noise intensity:
Moderate - Occasionally: office, warehouse, and lab environments
- Constantly: production/manufacturing environment
- Proximity to moving parts
Salary range: $33.44 - $38.58 per hour. Benefits include healthcare, a 401(k) plan, and tuition reimbursement.
