The Facility Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to support the safe, efficient, and clean operation of the facility. This role is responsible for both preventive maintenance and emergency repairs across building systems and grounds.

Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance & Inspections
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Identify and address potential issues such as faulty wiring, plumbing leaks, and HVAC malfunctions.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Repairs & Troubleshooting
  • Repair or replace plumbing fixtures (faucets, toilets, piping).
  • Repair electrical components (switches, outlets, lighting fixtures).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor HVAC system issues.
  • Repair structural components including walls, doors, flooring, and ceilings.
General Facility Upkeep
  • Perform painting, drywall repair, plastering, and minor carpentry work.
  • Maintain overall building appearance and functionality.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized after repairs.
Groundskeeping & Janitorial Support
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including mowing lawns, clearing debris, and snow removal.
  • Clean and maintain common areas and shared spaces.
  • Support general custodial duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience:

    1–3 years of experience in facility maintenance, construction trades, or related field preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic work orders and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50–100 lbs.
  • Ability to work on ladders and elevated surfaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Environment:
    Work performed both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to extreme temperatures and potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Schedule:

    Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Occasional overtime or emergency call-ins may be required.)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required or preferred
