JOB DESCRIPTION - DALLAS TRAILER REPAIR CO. PARTS WAREHOUSE PERSONNEL Responsibilities

  • Professionally, and with excellent customer service, interact with customers
  • Able to follow company and department policies and procedures
  • Receiving of inventory and incoming shipments, including identifying damage or shortages
  • Pick, pull, process and ship outgoing orders
  • Stock inventory according to assigned bin location
  • Pull parts for work‑in‑process and deliver to job location on site
  • Safely load and secure large items or large quantities of items for transport in or on truck or trailer
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory counts as needed or requested
  • Notify management of stock, equipment or building damage
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace
  • Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices
  • Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of a team and work well with co‑workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Able to pass drug test/medical physical exam
  • Able to pass a 10‑year background check
  • Valid DL and clear MVR (if applicable)
  • Must be forklift certified or able to pass and obtain certification
  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding of units of measure
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as packing slips and invoices
  • Efficient and detail oriented worker
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Demands/Abilities performed throughout the duration of the work shift
  • Heavy Work – Exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Walking/Standing for sustained periods of time
  • Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and similar structures using the entire body
  • Stooping/Crouching – Bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine
  • Balancing – Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling
  • Kneeling/Crawling – Bending legs at the knee to rest on one or both knees or moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Whole Hand/Fingers – Picking, pinching, typing with fingers and grasping with fingers and palm
  • Repetitive Motion – Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary
  • Hearing – Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts and/or operating machines and power tools, operating a motor vehicle and determining accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work performed
  • Work performed in a shop; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to work environments that are not climate controlled, weather and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot and possibly mold, loud noise, and ladders to use for high heights. Potential hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

    Work spaces may be exposed to smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water or other unsanitary conditions, as well as being in closed quarters/confined spaces such as crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, attics, etc.
