Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production equipment at our facility.
Responsibilities- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance crafts including basic electrical, mechanical, welding, and machine shop.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to closely interact with co‑workers in and outside the Maintenance Department.
- Methodically analyze and correct problems on a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Certified forklift operator.
- Agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and use ladders to reach various equipment.
- Ability to work overtime, daily and weekends, sometimes with minimal notice; flexibility with shift hours.
- Ability to work up to heights of 45 ft. on material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3‑5 years related experience.
- Minimum of one year experience supervising employees in a manufacturing / production / industrial environment.
- Minimum of one year experience leading others through projects or initiatives.
- Leadership skills with ability to work across functions and interact with all levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to assess risk.
- Understanding of the financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory.
- Experienced in leading large teams to support business initiatives.
- Dynamic self‑starter, independent, applies sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete or ambiguous information, and proactively initiates action steps.
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and working under pressure.
- Collaborative problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work, and analysis methods and ensure continuous adaptation to business requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in food processing.
- Experience in plumbing, millwright, and carpentry.
- Welding experience, including basic welding certification.
- PLC and industrial electrical experience.
- Robotic and conventional palletizer experience.
- Dense phase pneumatic conveying experience.
- Hands‑on experience with new equipment installation.
- Experience with boilers, chillers, air compressors.
- Trade school, certificate or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
