Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Summary:
Progressive Laboratories is a manufacturer of vitamins and supplements. GMP guidelines must be followed at all times. Maintenance supervisor is responsible for the productivity of the maintenance team, ensuring work orders are completed properly and in a timely manner and identifying issues that need to be addressed. Maintenance supervisor must be able to assist production and warehouse personnel to minimize downtime when needed.
Schedule:
9AM - 5:30 Weekdays (Monday – Friday) and Saturdays as needed
- Supervises and assist the activities of Maintenance Team
- Organize, prioritize and ensure completion of work orders, planned repairs and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
- Ensure quick and effective response to line breakdowns. Investigates failure and conduct analysis of failures to prevent future breakdowns.
- Communicate with Supervisors across departments regularly to coordinate maintenance activities with Production schedules.
Required Qualifications:
- Five or more years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance
- One year in a leadership role.
- Strong personal skills, including professional written/oral communication.
- Must be motivated and able to motivate team in a positive manner.
- Ability to model composure and make decisions in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical controls and mechanical operation of production machinery.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
- Ability to source necessary parts for reactive or planned maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in nutraceutical or similar manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of powder filling including stick packaging, form fill and seal, rotary pouch fillers, encapsulation, and bottle filling
- Knowledge of mixing equipment including ribbon/paddle blenders, rotary blenders and tumble blenders
- Knowledge of encapsulation including hard capsule filling, polishers and bottle filling
- Computerized maintenance management system knowledge
- Knowledge of air compressor systems.
- Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Facilities knowledge including HVAC, water heaters, plumbing and irrigation.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position will supervise a growing maintenance team to ensure functionality and proper repair of equipment. Must be able to work with production supervisors and personnel to minimize downtime
Work Environment:
Outdoor/attic work required as necessary, warehouse and production are climate controlled. Dust, noise, slippery floors and moving equipment.
Physical Demands:
Long periods of standing/walking, climbing stairs/ladders, heavy lifting and moving heavy equipment.
Position will include extensive standing, walking, sitting, lifting, climbing stairs/ladders, visual inspections, and quick responses to equipment/team needs.
