About The Role
As our 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician, you'll join our Print Operations team at our Irving Print Facility and help keep our press, sheeting, and binding equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll troubleshoot equipment issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and help reduce downtime across the facility.
You'll also work closely with our 2nd shift production team by helping operators troubleshoot basic equipment issues and understand proper machine operation. This is a hands-on role where you'll use your technical skills to keep equipment running, solve problems, and support a safe and productive work environment.
This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) in-person position. Interviews will be conducted via phone and on-site at our Print Facility in Irving, TX. The salary for this position is $64,000 to $67,000 annually with opportunities for growth and advancement.
The Role in Action
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on digital presses, sheeting lines, and binding equipment.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable and reduce downtime.
- Help operators troubleshoot equipment issues and provide basic coaching on proper equipment operation.
- Handle equipment setups, including blade changes, roller adjustments, and glue pot maintenance.
- Prepare and replace equipment components during changeovers or repairs to keep production moving.
- Manage spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure needed materials are available when repairs are required.
- Use HP Holo Lens XR and other diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and coordinate technical support.
- Maintain equipment safeguards and visual guides to support safe and consistent machine operation.
- Work with facility teams and equipment vendors to address maintenance and technical issues.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who'll hit the ground running with:
- 1-3 plus years of experience repairing or maintaining heavy machinery, packaging equipment, printing equipment, or similar equipment.
- Be able to read basic electrical and mechanical diagrams and equipment manuals.
- Enjoy helping, coaching, and working with equipment operators.
- Have basic computer skills and be comfortable learning maintenance and diagnostic software.
- Communicate equipment issues and repair updates clearly with team leads and management.
- Be available to work 2nd shift, Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM, with occasional additional hours for major repairs or emergencies.
- Complete required background, motor vehicle, and drug screenings.
Skills and Qualities That Set You Apart:
- Experience working with HP Page Wide, HP Indigo, Hunkeler, Muller Martini, Standard Horizon, or similar printing and finishing equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with 5S, quick changeovers, or other methods used to improve equipment efficiency is a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, drives, pneumatic systems, or hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Experience using CMMS software, AR/VR diagnostic tools, or digital printing systems is a plus.
- Enjoy finding ways to reduce equipment downtime and improve production processes.
- Have a positive, patient approach to coaching operators and working as part of a collaborative team.
