Movement Search and Delivery is partnering with a growing automotive supplier in the Spring Arbor, Michigan area to identify and evaluate a Maintenance Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a stable, metals-based manufacturing operation where you'll play a key role in improving equipment reliability, developing maintenance talent, and driving operational excellence.
About the RoleWe're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager who enjoys leading from the plant floor and making a measurable impact on manufacturing performance. You'll lead all maintenance operations for a fast-paced automotive facility, partnering closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to maximize equipment uptime, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do- Lead, coach, and develop the plant's skilled trades and maintenance team.
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through proactive maintenance strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to improve plant performance.
- Develop maintenance KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and outside contractors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Support capital equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee development, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent maintenance leadership experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in metals manufacturing, including stamping, welding, machining, or related processes.
- Proven success leading hourly skilled trades and maintenance personnel.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- PLC-controlled automation equipment
- Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
- CMMS experience strongly preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Lead from the production floor rather than behind a desk.
- Build strong partnerships with Production, Engineering, and Operations.
- Develop and mentor maintenance technicians and skilled trades employees.
- Thrive in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
- Take ownership of equipment reliability and drive measurable improvements in uptime and plant performance.
