Tunista Operations Support Services LLCOn-Call
** PRIMARY FUNCTION
** The Ft. Jackson Janitor cleans and maintains an orderly condition of offices, childcare facilities, working areas, and establishments for Ft. Jackson CDC and SSI. This is an on-call position, with work scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., as needed.
Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
* • Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash throughout facility. Clean waste receptacles as necessary.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Strip, seal, finish and polish floors as necessary.
• Steam clean and / or shampoo carpeted areas of facility.
• Notify appropriate personnel of any equipment needing.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Dust and clean all office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills and all other surfaces.
• Clean all restroom thoroughly. Replenish paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, etc.
• Keep all community areas of the facility free of debris and clutter.
• Wipe clean and buff all metal surfaces, eliminating fingerprints and smudges.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and when using chemical cleaners.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and reporting any suspicious activity.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, aprons and goggles, when necessary.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
** KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:*
* • General knowledge in use and maintenance of janitorial equipment.
• Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
• Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
• Must be trustworthy
• Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
• Ability to follow instructions
• Customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
• Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Tunista’s goals.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
• Ability to multi-task.

* • General knowledge in use and maintenance of janitorial equipment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in a janitorial role
• Must be able to obtain and keep a government security clearance
• Must pass drug and background screening
