City of jackson fire department is accepting applications for firefighter

Minimum qualifications:

High school diploma; must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid drivers license; have vision corrected to 20/20, and must be a citizen of the united states.

General job description:

Firefighters engage directly in firefighting and fire prevention in order to save lives and protect property. They perform routine station and equipment maintenance activities; do related work within the job description as required, including administering first aid to injured persons.

Beginning salary: $46,801.80

Other requirements

Applicants must pass a written examination to be eligible to participate in the hiring process. The applicant must pass an oral interview, background check, drug screening, medical and treadmill examinations and a physical ability test prior to employment.
