General Description / Primary Purpose
This is work supervising custodial staff and building maintenance in accordance with the APPA cleaning standards.
Job FunctionSupervises the cleaning of the University. Conducts inspections. Performs administrative duties. Maintains supply inventory. Supervises equipment maintenance. Handles personnel matters. Trash pickup and after-hour services.
Supplementary ResponsibilitiesSpecial Events and event equipment maintenance. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment for respective areas on the first working day of every month. Plans, gives instructions on, and inspects the completion of special set‑up requests, graduations, and providing manpower during events; cleans up after events.
Work orders. Campus emergencies. Coordinates work with other trades and departments as necessary. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.
Supervision ExercisedCustodial Workers, Sr. Custodial Worker & OPS Custodial Workers as necessary.
Supervision ReceivedThe supervisor reviews the incumbent's work for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.
Required QualificationsHigh school diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.
