Maintenance Mechanic

Fulltime Nights Job Summary and Qualifications

• Maintenance and repair of ceiling tiles, lamp replacement and exit lights.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and drain problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hospital equipment.
• Ability to maintain and repair facility vehicles and small equipment including commercial kitchen equipment, pumps, generators, blowers, etc.
• Ability to weld, braze and cut metals.
• Ensure work performed by outside contractors is done in a timely manner and conforms to local codes.
• General maintenance repairs to the facility and repairs of all hospital beds including:
  Stryker, Century CC+, Advanced 2,000, Advanced 3,000, Advanta, Versicare, Total Care, & Affinity.
• Electronic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to teach and train others in bed mechanics.
• Current with latest schooling that pertains to the hospital’s equipment.
• Communicate with customers, staff, management staff and coworkers.
• Set priorities for scheduled work and preventive maintenance. Spreadsheets to reflect hospital bed inventories & locations.
• Ability to estimate needed materials and keep an adequate stock.
• Aggressively work to find ways to cut cost and increase production.
• Replace / run new plumbing piping.
• Replace / run new electrical.
• Troubleshoot and major repairs for HVAC systems.

• (DL) Driver License
• High School Graduate / GED
• No Travel Required
• 5 years experience required
