Position: Automation Systems Technician (2nd Shift)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm (or until work is complete)

What Ops Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment.

Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Operations Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets including physical building and utilities, manufacturing/ warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices and physical layout of facility.

This responsibility is completed through the management of appropriate internal and external resources as needed to ensure the dependable and safe operations environment necessary for a given Cardinal facility.

This group has responsibility for both corrective and preventative maintenance and the necessary systems to manage, schedule and record this activity.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing and maintaining an operational readiness of SLAM at our fully automated locations.
  • Inventory and account for repair parts for SLAM
  • Ordering repair parts for SLAM as they are consumed.
  • Implementing and managing the reliability-based maintenance function. This position also executes equipment inspection and monitoring programs; defines and implements maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime; and continuously evaluates current maintenance, operations and reliability methods and implements changes to enhance effectiveness at increasing value-maximizing performance.
  • Monitoring operation and maintain robots, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment; reviewing logs as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as need/requested basis.
  • Performing preventive maintenance tasks when required per manufacturing standard and frequencies, utilizing a CMMS.
  • Overseeing repairs and PMs of equipment and implements frequency of repair and/or PM per manufactures recommendations, standards, and warranty compliance.
  • Ensuring the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate all associated automation, including PSI.
  • Overseeing the activities of contractors working, operational demonstrations, or training sessions within the SLAM line.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience, preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members
  • May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise

Anticipated hourly range: $22.30/hr.

- $37.12/hr.
