Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually
BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department including hiring and disciplinary functions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
training; planning, assigning/ directing work and ensuring work is completed on a safe and efficient manner.
Supervises and develops the skills of the maintenance crew. Assesses ongoing maintenance projects and job orders and determines work priorities. Directs maintenance activities and delegates work to crew. Ensures safe working conditions and safe work procedures are understood and followed by crew. Communicates equipment and job order status to appropriate people and departments. Ability to update Electronic Preventative Maintenance system. Ability to analyze Preventative Maintenance data and modify program based on this data.
Ability to analyze equipment manuals and translate that data into meaningful Preventative Maintenance schedules. Read electrical and hydraulic prints. Trouble shoots and repair mechanical equipment in a reasonable time. Fill out all required paper work and work orders. Possess a good working knowledge of hoist, processing machines, air compressor, sump pumps, exhaust fans, vacuum system, and be able to repair them.
Be able to weld and train others as needed. Order parts as needed by the department, in a timely manner. Keep the Maintenance department clean and orderly at all times. Work with the Purchasing department to order parts on time. Work with the Supervisors of different departments to improve their operations. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level of formal education that is required to perform this job satisfactorily
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Certificate or Diploma from trade school in related field and five years experience in the maintenance and/or operation process of a manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEEngineering degree or equivalent of 5 to 7 years related maintenance experience.
Direct work experience maintaining industrial equipment, conveyors & processing and packaging machines & equipment, piping, hydraulic systems, and other miscellaneous equipment. Knowledge of welding procedures & fabrication techniques is a plus. The Maintenance Supervisor must be capable of working and acting as a troubleshooting resource, as well as giving guidance and developmental projects to employees. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Must have good supervisory skills and be self-directed. Assist in creating work instructions and procedures.
Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation (i.e. timecards, attendance, counseling, etc.). Promote subordinate development. Participate in the CCJ safety program. Participate in CCJ Quality Improvement Process. Function as a group leader in the areas of safety, health, quality, dependability and productivity.
