ThePosition:
ACET is seeking a highly experienced H-1 Aircraft Mechanic III (Flight line & CDQAR) for our Jacksonville, NC location. In this role, you will perform critical mechanical flight-line maintenance and serve as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR). This position specifically focuses on mechanical systems—primarily engines, gearboxes, and drive shafts—to ensure strict compliance with quality, safety, and naval aviation maintenance standards.

- Serve as a CDQAR utilizing your primary discipline from flight-line MOS 6114/6174. Perform initial, in-progress, and final quality mechanical inspections during aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, and rework.
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control, and preservation on H-1 aircraft powerplants and mechanical subsystems—with a primary focus on the engine, gearboxes, and drive shafts.
- Perform functional checks and preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft mechanical and fuel systems as required and trained.
- Maintain accurate aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA).
- Monitor compliance and provide hands‑on guidance for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Programs, including FOD, Confined Space, Lockout/Tag‑out, and Fall Protection.
- Safely operate aircraft towing equipment during ground operations. Perform quality and safety inspections on all on‑site equipment, vehicles, and maintenance tools.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience performing maintenance specifically on the H-1 platform is strictly required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience serving as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) on military aircraft, OR equivalent FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) experience.
- Deep expertise in H-1 engines, gearboxes, and drive shaft components.
- This position does not require or perform maintenance on aircraft electronics, avionics, instruments, armament, or hydraulic systems.
- Primary discipline/background in flight-line MOS 6114 (UH-1 Mechanic) or MOS 6174 (AH-1 Mechanic) is required.
- Must be qualified or clearable to serve as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR).
- Proficiency with OOMA (Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System) for logging and record‑keeping.
- Ability to obtain/maintain the required government security clearance or base access as specified by the contract.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a fit‑for‑work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, including working overhead.
- Must be able to work at heights in the hangar and on the flight‑line.
