Position Yard Manager Description

Position Overview
:
The Assistant Yard Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the boatyard(s), ensuring the maintenance, repair, storage and movement of vessels and equipment. The Assistant Yard Foreman reports to the Yard Foreman. The Assistant Yard Foreman will be responsible for operating equipment, hauling/launching and moving vessels.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring efficient and safe processes.
  • Supervise the yard associates, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Train new yard associates on yard procedures and safety protocols.
  • Work with the General Manager to provide insight for budgets and scheduling.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Developing short- and long-term plans for vessel movements and storage.
  • Maintain and monitor all equipment and facilities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Fosters a harassment-free workplace and acts promptly to address any human resources concerns.
  • Intervention on customer services issues and complaints as needed.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Yard Foreman and other members of the leadership team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team in a marina boatyard environment.
  • Marina and boat yard experience preferred.
  • CDL-A Licensure a plus
  • Rhode Island Hoisting License a plua.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Commitment to customer service and providing a positive experience for customers.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel, resort and marina jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

    Exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
