Housekeeper/Laundry Aide Job Description Position Summary

The Housekeeper/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This position performs housekeeping and laundry duties while following infection control, safety, and resident rights standards.

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and dining areas.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash.

• Wash, dry, fold, sort, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.

• Maintain housekeeping equipment, carts, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.

• Follow established cleaning schedules, infection control practices, and safety procedures.

• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, accidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.

• Treat residents with dignity, respect, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Work cooperatively with residents, families, coworkers, and other departments.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical duties throughout the workday.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing.

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, soiled linens, and body fluids while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Must follow all infection prevention, safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
