What you'll do

Low Voltage Job Description

Essential Functions
  • Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (e.g., security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
  • Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability; identifies and resolves issues to minimize downtime.
  • Fixes faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.
  • Provides technical support and training to end users; addresses customer inquiries professionally.
  • Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follows all safety guidelines; maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluates existing systems for upgrades or enhancements; performs system upgrades to improve performance or meet new standards.
  • Works closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Leads and participates in teams using and sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinates and executes work assignments; models adaptability to change or new challenges.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs; analyzes information from multiple sources; monitors progress and results.

Technician Physical Activities

  • Moves up and down ladders and stairs; lifts, carries, and places items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Reaches overhead and below the knees; bends, twists, pulls, and stoops as needed.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles, large power equipment, and sits for long periods.
  • Visually inspects equipment; creates documents and reports using writing instruments or electronic devices.
  • Presents information to small or large groups or individuals; verifies and reads information, often in small print.
Travel

Traveling is necessary to perform essential functions of this position.

  • Travels domestically to multiple facilities or work sites, sometimes with consecutive overnight stays.
  • Works or trains at multiple facilities or distant locations.
  • Extended travel of seven days or more is not required, except for management training and emergency situations.
Work Environment

Working in the following environment is necessary to perform essential functions of this position.

  • Moves through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks of merchandise, storage areas, and closets.
