Clean and maintain all buildings and grounds in a safe and professional manner to support positive educational experiences.
Evaluation and TrainingPerformance is evaluated by the Immediate Supervisor in collaboration with Custodian Management and Site Administration. This position requires mandatory training and is subject to periodic evaluations.
Job Requirements- High School Diploma or GED; basic math competency.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand procedures, regulations, and instructions.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Preference for candidates with at least one year of custodial, floor care, or general maintenance experience.
- Participation in mandatory training and compliance programs.
Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, climb, see, talk, and hear for extended periods. Reach with hands and arms extended, lift or move up to 50 lbs, and work at heights up to 35 feet.

- Cleaning and Maintenance: vacuum, buff, burnish, strip, carpet care; clean restrooms, empty trash; maintain custodial closet and cart; submit maintenance requests promptly.
- Security: secure facilities, open doors as needed; monitor and report inappropriate activity.
- Grounds Maintenance: mow, edge, weed‑eat; pick up trash; remove snow and ice as required.
- Supplies and Equipment: exercise cost control; use and maintain equipment; report maintenance needs.
- Energy Management: facilitate building energy management program, scheduled shut‑downs, and conservation settings.
- Regulatory: comply with OSHA, Federal, State, and Local policies; attend mandatory training (Asbestos, Blood‑borne Pathogens, FERPA, Right‑to‑Know) and utilize PPE.
- Departmental: adhere to district policies, sustain a safe environment, document workplace injuries, follow chemical label and mixing instructions.
- Efficiency: daily walk‑through inspections; complete tasks promptly; accept additional duties.
- Communication: interact positively with staff, students, parents, community; listen, share, manage directions, seek assistance.
- Integrity: maintain confidentiality, correct problems responsibly.
- Appearance and Attendance: maintain punctuality, hygiene, and appropriate attire; attend work in inclement weather.
- Judgment and Decision Making: act independently, set high performance standards, eliminate inefficiencies, improve processes.
