Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are looking for a motivated, career-oriented, wastewater professional to join the True West Beef team as the Wastewater Supervisor
. The WW Supervisor will report to the Environmental Manager to drive the successful operation of a dynamic wastewater treatment facility and public drinking water system. This role will support the Wastewater Manager by supervising the day-to-day operation and maintenance of treatment equipment, biological processes, reuse site, sewer systems, solids management, grounds maintenance, and a public drinking water system. The supervisor will help bridge communication and direction between management and operations to ensure stable and consistent operations.
This is a high energy position focused on delivering support and coordination, when and where it’s needed, while setting a good example by demonstrating a strong work ethic. This position is integral to departmental succession and provides opportunity for advancement.
- Oversee and coordinate daily sample collection and lab analysis aligned with analytical procedures and approved scientific methods.
- Perform and coordinate collection, collation, recording, review, and interpretation of technical data to support plant operations and meet regulatory compliance.
- Provide clear and concise communication and operational updates to co-workers and management team.
- Effectively receive, disseminate, and implement direction from the management team.
- Monitor and supervise the SCADA system through the HMI, review and evaluate trending, and respond to alarms.
- Demonstrate and coach sound judgement and troubleshooting skills to the operations team.
- Oversee maintenance of DW & WW facilities to ensure smooth uninterrupted operation.
- Safely and effectively operate and supervise operation of support equipment (forklift, telehandler, UTV, manlift, loader, tractor, dump truck, etc.).
- Help track inventories to insure availability and uninterrupted operation (chemicals, parts, supplies).
- Support and guide preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of system equipment in concert with the computerized maintenance management system.
- Follow written and verbal instruction. Comply with company policies and procedures including all related safe work practices.
- Develop positive working relationships with co-workers and other department personnel to insure an efficient, effective, and collaborative operation.
- Coordinate small projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid Idaho driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to develop written procedures and produce effective written communications.
- Willingness and ability to support on call and/or work nights, weekends, or holidays.
- Comfortable working in odorous, hot, humid, dirty, noisy, or generally unsavory environments. Comfortable working indoors, outdoors and in inclement weather.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling 50 pounds, climbing ladders, standing, crawling, stooping, twisting, kneeling, working from a boat, working in confined spaces, working from heights, working in physically demanding situations, and safely working around hazardous chemicals or equipment.
EDUCATION:
- Supervisory experience required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Coursework, training, or experience in biology, chemistry, hydraulics, or mechanics required.
- Wastewater Treatment II and Drinking Water Distribution I licensing required. Candidates with over 10 years of relevant experience and the ability to acquire their licenses may be considered.
