Shift B – Wed to Sat, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm, $21/hr
Job PurposeGeneral upkeep of the office building. Make certain that the building(s) are clean and in orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Notify management of the need for repairs and clean snow or debris from sidewalks. Vacuum, clean bathrooms, and perform small repair work. Report to the shift supervisor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with recommended cleaners.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Operate equipment such as vans, industrial trucks, or vacuum cleaners as required.
- Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
- Notify managers about major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, and apply melting chemicals as needed.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Apply insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
- Basic knowledge of repair techniques or job training alongside an experienced custodian.
- Sanitation for food facilities.
- Finishing/refinishing floors.
- Forklift operation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and write. Ability to follow orders and respond to questions from management.
- Must be able to occasionally reach, lift, or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to crouch or crawl under a 48" high shelf. Ability to ascend and descend a 14" step.
- Must be able to operate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Works in an indoor office environment requiring repetitive hand motions.
- Frequent talking, hearing, standing, and walking required.
- Must be able to work beyond continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over the telephone.
- Must be in sound physical health, as determined by a licensed physician, with no evidence of controlled substance use.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
