Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Under indirect supervision, provide technical assistance to include in-depth troubleshooting, programming, program modifications, corrective action and consulting services to customer base and Yaskawa America employees across the breadth of the Yaskawa America product line.
Responsibilities- Travel as required; must hold a valid driver's license and full coverage automobile insurance.
- Perform preventive and emergency repair procedures, complete required reports and satisfy customer needs through practical field experience and in-depth company training programs.
- Lead technical support for all less experienced personnel in a geographical area.
- Obtain and maintain Field Service Technician and Service Application Technician qualifications.
- Ensure safety (in-house and at customer site); conduct in-depth troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of robotic systems, controllers, and related equipment.
- Provide phone support for troubleshooting and repair issues.
- Refine customer relationship skills.
- Train Field Service Technicians and Service Application Technicians.
- Follow direction for service trips from headquarters personnel and generate service trip reports.
- Order spare parts and manage remote office spares inventory.
- Resolve safety and service-related issues via verbal and written reports.
- Coordinate service support efforts with Regional Sales Managers.
- Conduct courtesy visits in assigned territory and provide application knowledge.
- Maintain demo systems at remote offices to ensure operational readiness.
- Promote teamwork and foster an exemplary work environment; interface with co‑workers to enhance employee satisfaction.

- Associate's Degree (AA) and six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong technical background in robotics and related systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, repair, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel, work independently, and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Standing, walking, using hands to handle and operate tools and controls, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; often up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentOccasional work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to electrical shock. Work in high, precarious places and under wet or humid conditions, with fumes, chemicals, or extreme heat. Noise level usually quiet. May contact hazardous materials such as grease, oils, lubricants, paint, thinner, parts cleaner, etc. Basic awareness of hazardous material cautions required.
