Job Summary
Performs various duties relating to washing, sorting and transporting linen to ensure productive flow of work to finishing departments.
Qualifications and Responsibilities- Must be able to read and write, perform simple arithmetic, and possess mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with limited supervision.
- Previous experience may shorten training time; an inexperienced worker will need three to six months of on‑the‑job training to acquire skill and versatility to perform satisfactorily.
Normal hospital environment exposure to changes in temperatures, fumes, and water. Normal/corrected eyesight and hearing of normal and soft tones. Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures by touch and proximity. Operates laundry processing equipment. Lift and carry up to 100 lbs; push or pull up to 350 lbs. Continuous standing, walking, bending and stooping.
