Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will support the objectives of production through the Maintenance function by the implementation of assigned tasks, supplying continuity between engineering and managerial functions. Maintains (through preventative maintenance) repairs and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Performs hands‑on maintenance tasks according to set production maintenance priorities, including repairing and troubleshooting of all equipment and support systems for the facility. Also, assists with the repair and maintenance of the physical structure.
- Supervises maintenance contractors, when required.
- Maintains a Maintenance Action Log, by a piece of equipment, in order to track individual repairs, and serve as a baseline for future preventive maintenance.
- Participates in startup and shutdown activities, as required. Assists with Shutdown Task planning and scheduling.
- Works with vendors / OEM to obtain parts pricing and repair recommendations for process equipment and systems.
- Incorporates safe practices while completing assigned maintenance work order activities.
- Maintains the Maintenance Department work area. Cleans‑up after each task, and on a daily basis, performs care for tools and proper storage of supplies.
- Complies with all Company, Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations in regard to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
- Other duties may be assigned or current duties modified / changed
- Associates degree in a technical discipline or a minimum of 5 years in Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing setting. Electrical preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC’s, instrumentation, and other electronics.
- Must be willing to learn and attend training classes as defined by Management.
- PC literacy and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and procedures.
- Basic Welding Skills a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA and Environmental Regulations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work a flexible working schedule including shift work.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
