Who We Are:

Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. (UOSS) is an industrial and commercial construction company that operates in Alaska and Texas. We have been in business for over 50 years, established on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula in 1970. We are a company with a safety-first culture who strives to be number one in reputation with our employee first culture and our clients.

What You Will Do:

Udelhoven is a company that is backed by our integrity, professionalism and quality. We believe the team is better than any one individual, and as a team we strive for excellence. We are looking for an experience maintenance planner with a background in Oil & Gas.

The Maintenance Planner develops, prioritizes, and schedules preventive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities for oilfield equipment and facilities (e.g., pumps, compressors, valves, piping, instrumentation, power generation, and production support systems). The goal is to maximize equipment reliability, minimize unplanned downtime, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., safety, environmental), and optimize resource use in a harsh Arctic environment. This role bridges operations, maintenance technicians, engineering, supply chain, and safety teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and prioritize incoming work requests/notifications from operations and technicians.
  • Plan detailed job packages, including scope of work, required labor (crafts like mechanics, electricians, instrument techs), materials, tools, permits, and procedures.
  • Use CMMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar oil & gas systems) to create, update, and manage work orders, backlogs, and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Coordinate with procurement/supply chain to ensure parts availability (critical in remote locations with limited logistics).
  • Perform job site walk-downs/inspections to validate scope, identify risks, and estimate time/cost.
  • Develop short-term (weekly/daily) and long-term (monthly/quarterly/annual) maintenance plans and schedules to align with production goals and minimize impact on operations.
  • Support turnaround/shutdown planning, including resource loading and critical path scheduling.
  • Track maintenance KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, backlog aging, PM completion rates) and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure all planned work complies with safety standards (e.g., permit-to-work, LOTO, Arctic-specific protocols like cold weather procedures).
  • Collaborate on root cause analysis for recurring issues and update preventive strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's in engineering, maintenance management, or related field preferred.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry (North Slope/Arctic experience highly valued).
  • Prior hands-on craft experience (e.g., mechanic, electrician, or instrument tech) is often required or strongly preferred for credibility in scoping jobs.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/ERP systems for work order management and planning.
  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas equipment, preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, API standards).
  • Ability to read P&IDs, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts in remote camp environment (fly-in/fly-out, with camp lodging/meals provided).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and Arctic-specific fitness requirements (e.g., NSTC Unescorted training if needed).
  • Preferred:
Experience with North Slope operations; planning software like Primavera; turnaround experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay plus OT.
  • Rotational Perks:
Flights (To/From: Anchorage, AK to Deadhorse, AK), meals, lodging provided.
  • Benefits:
    Medical, Dental, 401k and vision.
  • Opportunities for advancement.
