Airport Maintenance and Repair Supervisor
Salary: $6,530 per month.
Supervisor of a group of airport maintenance repairers who direct the maintenance and repair of the facilities, equipment and aircraft, and other areas of a primary airport. May also supervise laboring and other personnel and perform related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Supervise a group of several airport maintenance repairers.
- Plan, lay out, assign, and review the work of the group.
- Determine the need for building repairs and develop a schedule of preventive maintenance.
- Use hand tools utilized in a variety of building trades.
- Read blueprints and sketches, estimate time and materials needed.
- Keep records of inventory, staff and other matters.
- Prepare oral and written reports and respond to emergencies.
- Organize and expedite work and resolve emergencies.
- Eight (8) years of work experience performing a variety of building and equipment repair work.
- Four (4) years as a fully competent worker.
- One (1) year of supervisory work experience, including planning and scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, and providing training.
- Knowledge of building and equipment maintenance and repair practices, safety procedures, common tools and materials used in carpentry, painting, plumbing and masonry trades, and principles of supervision.
- Ability to plan, lay out, assign and review work for a group of maintenance repairers; develop preventive maintenance schedules; use hand tools; read blueprints; estimate time and materials; keep records; prepare reports; understand and follow instructions and airport rules and regulations; and deal effectively with supervisory levels.
- Valid State of Hawaii motor vehicle operator’s license, Type 3.
- Federal SIDA clearance requiring a fingerprint-based criminal history check with no disqualifying convictions within the last ten years.
