Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician, General Labor
Overview
Under minimal direction, rotates duties between clearing baggage jams, monitoring system graphical displays, moving baggage from pier to pier, and assists Technicians.
Responsibilities- Moves baggage from default pier and delivers to appropriate airline pier or make-up unit.
- Completes computer entries and paperwork appropriate for tasks performed.
- Assists Technicians with preventative maintenance which includes cleaning and applying lubrication to system components, and general housekeeping in the work area.
- Performs system walkthroughs and alerts Technicians of any issues.
- Monitors system displays for active alarms/faults and dispatches technicians to faulted area.
- Responsible for clearing baggage jams on the system.
- May be responsible for moving baggage tubs to and from the bag room to various locations within the assigned work area.
- Completes all training as assigned by the Company.
- Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to pass a basic aptitude test.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Must be dependable and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
- Good knowledge of industrial safety.
- Ability to work in tight and high spaces with proper PPE.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Previous mechanical experience.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Outlook)
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
- Ability to work in customer needs while following company procedures.

Basic computer knowledge. Ability to log in, retrieve and answer emails and take training.
Other Requirements- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
- Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
Stand frequently, walk frequently, sit occasionally. Handle/finger frequently, reach outward frequently, reach above shoulder infrequently, climb/balance infrequently, crawl infrequently, squat or stoop occasionally, bend or kneel occasionally. Lifting: 10 lbs or less frequently; 11‑20 lbs frequently; 21‑50 lbs frequently; 51+ lbs infrequently. Push/Pull: 10 lbs or less frequently; 11‑20 lbs frequently; 21‑50 lbs frequently; 51+ lbs occasionally. Vision (Near, Distance) and hearing are required.
WorkEnvironment
Works in the terminal bag room in conditions that are exposed to hot, cold, and occasionally wet weather. The environment contains dust, dirt, and a continual noise level that may occasionally require the use of hearing protection. Use of proper PPE is required.
