Maintenance Engineer II, Full Time Rate of Pay: $33.30/hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii...King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Maintenance Engineer II to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job:
Performs general repair and maintenance work and all the duties of subordinates.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Performs general repair and maintenance work.
• Performs all duties of subordinate positions.
• Advises and directs personnel in lower rated positions as assigned.
• Makes plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning repairs and maintenance.
• Makes carpentry repairs and minor new work repairs.
• Maintains locks, keys and hardware.
• Maintains tile and cement.
• Makes minor repairs.
• May operate and do all maintenance and repair work on boilers and associated equipment.
• May mix, add and analyze boiler chemicals.
• May take weather readings and keep records of the same.
• May assume all duties of sewage and water personnel in their absence.
• Periodically clean gutters.
• Drain water heaters.
• Keeps equipment maintenance records.
• May operate projection and sound equipment and set up equipment for special events.
• Maintain shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Knowledge/Education/

Experience:

Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, etc.). Minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience required including but not limited to basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, and proper tool and chemical use. High school or equivalent education.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: English speaking or bilingual. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
