Duties Summary

Cares for, maintains and beautifies an assigned park area, playground or gymnasium; may operate a power mower; and performs other related duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

• Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Experience: None required.
• Knowledge of: Care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees and lawns; operation and care of grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
• Ability to: Understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate hand and power equipment and tools used in grounds maintenance; learn pertinent rules and regulations and enforce them with tact and courtesy.
• Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
• Special Requirements: Applicants must be able to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.
