FLOOR CLEANING TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you work well with others, have an eye for detail, and a desire to learn? Do you have the ability to solve problems and create solutions while serving customers? If so, you may be the perfect candidate for this position. Having leadership ability or project management experience is a plus.

The hours will vary but usually second shift, Monday through Friday. Some businesses request cleaning on a Saturday, and we will work out a schedule with them.

Experience is preferred but not required and includes: (1) stripping and waxing floors, (2) cleaning ceramic tile and grout, (3) cleaning carpet, and (4) deep cleaning. We provide training, uniforms, vehicles, equipment, and products to perform the work in a professional manner. The starting pay is $17-20/hour depending on experience. Pay increase opportunities available based on completed training.

This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces in businesses. Other duties may be assigned:

• Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using Service Master provided tools and procedures
• Duties include:
  
  sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, cleaning carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing, moving furniture, disinfecting floors with a sanitizer, spot cleaning, cleaning of elevators and stairs
• Must achieve a thorough understanding of floor maintenance procedures such as, but not limited to, stripping and waxing, and identifying different flooring types
• Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required
• Will provide on-the-job training to those with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Experience working for a professional janitorial or floor care company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus
• The ability to be flexible, work in a fast-paced, and multi-tasked environment is a must
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time
• Show respect and understanding for co-workers and customers

  Qualifications:
  
  Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 lbs
• Ability to read cleaning instructions
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
