Specific Duties and Responsibilities Policies and Procedures Maintain confidentiality of residents, resident family members, coworkers, and Immanuel Living.
Understand and support the philosophy, policies, and standards of Immanuel Living and the Maintenance department.
Maintain quality of resident care, including compliance with Facility and Department policies and procedures, and State and Federal guidelines.
Follow facility and department policies and procedures.
Position Duties Answer and respond to all emergency calls from residents.
Respond to fires and reset the system; reset elevator fire door (one-man procedure).Maintain basic mechanical knowledge or be able to learn mechanical knowledge of machinery and equipment in the building.
Patrol the buildings and grounds, to include a minimum of two (2) exterior rounds of the Facility per shift.
Check carport areas for signs of theft to resident vehicles and make sure no one has attempted to break into the garage and outside mechanical rooms or boiler room.
Check exit doors to make sure they are latched and locked; inspect all stairways and elevators.
Open and inspect all areas (spa, laundries, mechanical rooms, etc.).Check fan motors on 2nd and 3rd Floor air handling rooms.
Walk through the Kitchens to check temperatures of walk-in coolers and refrigerators; check plate warmer/dishwasher to make sure they are off; check all stoves/pilot lights on stoves.
Monitor door security panel and monitoring equipment throughout the building.
Check elevators and fire doors for proper operation.
Change the SD cards in the four bulletin monitors on a daily basis.
Replace light bulbs in common areas and throughout the building as needed; inspect hall lights, exit lights, and emergency lights. (If unable to replace burnt out bulbs, leave a work request for daytime Maintenance staff).Empty trash cans from hallways, lobby, and housekeeping rooms, office staff break room and restroom; break down and throw away boxes.
Return empty trays from the Buffalo and Billiards rooms to the Kitchen, as the morning, clean outside of front entrance, deliver newspapers, and make coffee and set up the coffee bar.
Clean and put away tables and chairs after special functions.
Shovel/remove snow from front entrance and sidewalk from entrance to alley and parking area, and from all exits on A, B,
C. and D wings to the alley and carport area. (On rare occasions, snow shoveling/removal may require extended hours.); use ice-melt where needed.
Set up for Sunday service at The Terraces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Documentation & Communication Communicate with supervisor and participate in training and/or meetings that help facilitate departmental communication process.
Attend and participate in in-service educational classes, on-the-job training programs, etc., as scheduled or required. Be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Communicate with others in a considerate manner.
