Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a local client. If you have building maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and enjoy keeping facilities safe, functional, and attractive, we encourage you to apply!
Pay$18.00 per hour
ScheduleApproximately 30 hours per week
Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of a commercial property. This position also assists with property security, monitoring shopper behavior, and helping maintain a safe environment for tenants and visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform general preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds as directed by management.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs with licensed contractors and vendors for HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Inspect and repair interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.
- Respond to work orders involving mechanical, electrical, lighting, doors, locks, hardware, and related equipment.
- Conduct facility inspections and address maintenance issues impacting tenant occupancy and operations.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and coordinate additional support when necessary.
- Operate and become familiar with building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment.
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable State, County, and City ordinances, codes, and regulations.
- Support after-hours building emergencies as needed.
- Escort vendors on-site and monitor vendor performance.
- Help maintain an attractive and professional property appearance.
- Monitor property activity and report suspicious behavior.
- Assist with security awareness and shoplifting prevention.
- Identify and report behavioral issues involving shoppers or visitors.
- Help promote a safe environment for tenants, customers, and staff.
- Previous building maintenance experience required.
- Basic knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing
- Electrical systems
- Lighting systems
- General maintenance procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot facility issues and perform repairs.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Reliable, dependable, and professional.
