Custodian , 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment to insure cleanliness; repairs, inspects, shampoos, replaces, and cleans contents and fixtures of the buildings, as assigned; will report any building deficiencies found during shift.
• Maintains consumables inventory to ensure adequate supplies to perform duties.
• Conducts office, classroom, and common space furniture moves; assists with college event set ups.
• Assists with snow removal, which may include the operation of motorized equipment, and with emergency evacuations as assigned.
• Conserves energy by turning off lights in unoccupied rooms.
• Provides excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and students.
• Assists with campus security and may deliver intra-campus mail.
• Serves as a member of the emergency response team.

• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
• May serve as a back-up to other staff members, as needed.
• May assist new employees and coordinate the activities of as-needed and student workers.
• Responds to the functions of the position in an environmental setting which might include cold, heat, odor, dampness, dirt, fumes, dust, oil, grease, noise, or vibration on a frequent basis. Appropriate protective devices are available as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent with ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions required.
• At least one to three years of commercial or institutional custodial experience required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without an accommodation; ability to climb ladders and to move stage platforms and chairs, etc. required.
• Ability to pass a physical exam if offered the position.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills desirable.
• Proficiency in English desirable.
• Valid State driver's license desirable.

This position is for 2nd shift.

Hiring range: $15.73/hr. min.

- $16.91/hr. mid.

- $18.09/hr. max.
