Kankakee, IL (On-Site) $135,000 - $155,000 Base Salary + Bonus
Our client, a well-established chemical manufacturing organization, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability operations at its Kankakee facility. This role will be responsible for developing maintenance strategy, leading a skilled maintenance team, managing budgets, and driving equipment reliability in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to maintenance supervisors, skilled trades personnel, planners, and contractors.
- Drive equipment reliability, asset performance, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
- Oversee preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to identify and resolve reliability issues.
- Utilize SAP, maintenance data, equipment history, and operational metrics to improve plant performance and reduce downtime.
- Support major plant turnarounds, shutdowns, and critical maintenance projects, ensuring proper planning and execution.
- Manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, labor costs, contractor expenses, inventory, and overall maintenance spending.
- Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational improvements.
- Lead contractor selection, bidding activities, and vendor management programs.
- Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with PSM requirements and industry regulations.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure maintenance effectiveness and reliability performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
- Experience with in a PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing environment.
- Proven maintenance leadership experience within chemical, process, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering and maintenance best practices.
- Experience utilizing a CMMS system; SAP preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze operational and financial data.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, forecasting, and contractor relationships.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with plant-floor execution.
- Strong experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Someone who can drive reliability improvements while developing and mentoring employees.
- A data-driven professional comfortable making decisions based on operational and financial performance.
