Job SummaryThe primary function of the Shop Technician is to inspect, diagnose and repair customer’s lift trucks and various material handling equipment. Conduct overall inspection to verify the truck is up to safety standards and perform maintenance, repair, replacement and troubleshooting as well as other duties required by management.
Essential Functions- Coordinate daily schedule with Field Service Advisor
- Provide excellent customer service at the site
- Inspect the levelers, locks and doors
- Note and propose additional services required after inspection
- Work with vendors and CSS to prepare and close proposals
- Repair all work order requests
- Install dock levelers, locks and doors
- Quality control of each job to ensure completeness
- Work independently as well as in a team
- Communicate with customer and contractor on status of project
- Represent Shoppa’s with a courteous professional manner
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years’ experience working on dock levelers, locks and doors
- Clean driving record
- Welding experience required
- Basic MS Office and general computer experience
- Good communication skills and great attitude
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Work well with internal and external customers as well as vendors
- Mechanical aptitude
- Customer service oriented
Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computers and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.
Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
