Job Title: Janitor (Full Time and Part Time)

Rockhurst University – 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110 (Additional locations within the school district may be available).

Full‑time:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Part‑time:
Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM (some weekend hours possible). More details will be provided during the interview.

Fixed pay rate of $15.50 per hour.

Keeps buildings clean and orderly. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

• Collects and disposes of trash in accordance with approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and mops floors, following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and places furniture back in correct locations.
• Uses assigned materials and equipment to clean assigned areas; sanitizes all surfaces. Follows an eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Proactively seeks out areas requiring cleaning and completes tasks independently.
• Completes all tasks assigned by a supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refines floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team, exhibiting professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
