The Maintenance Support role provides hands‑on support to the Maintenance Chief by assisting with the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems within a valve manufacturing plant. This position helps ensure equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, promotes workplace safety, and supports continuous production operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist maintenance technicians with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility repairs.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance activities on production equipment, machinery, and plant systems.
  • Support machine troubleshooting and corrective maintenance efforts to reduce downtime.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and report abnormal conditions, wear, or safety concerns.
  • Clean, lubricate, and replace parts as directed by maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in equipment setup, installation, relocation, and modification projects.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Support inventory control by tracking and stocking maintenance supplies, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Complete maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation accurately.
  • Assist with facility maintenance tasks, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, and building repairs.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, and company safety procedures at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • 1-3 years of maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience in machining, metalworking, valve manufacturing, or industrial production environment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, work instructions, and equipment drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems and work orders.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
