Ensure the safety of all guests, providing a safe and fun environment at all pool locations by maintaining water quality and cleanliness. The pool technician also supports the Recreation team and water attractions safety and excellent guest service.

• Ensure the safety of guests; may be a first responder to emergency situations.
• Understand and measure pool water quality requirements; work with chemicals to assist with upkeep of pool water and cleanliness.
• Safely work with and store hazardous chemicals.
• Be mechanically inclined; verify that the equipment in the pump room is functioning correctly and work in a loud environment.
• Partner with Engineering/Maintenance regarding pump maintenance.
• Enforce policies, rules and regulations of the Recreation locations.

• Upon successful completion of training, become Certified Pool Operator or certified Aquatic Facility Operator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to positively engage with guests, team members and management.
• Complete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
• Responsible, mature, energetic and comfortable giving and taking feedback.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Pass respiratory physical and fit test for respirator.
• Frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling.
• Regular heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, twisting and kneeling.
• Frequent use of hands.
• Work outdoors, getting wet in an open water environment in all types of weather; sometimes exposed to extreme heat/humidity and/or cold.
• Vision and hearing must be normal range to conduct chemical color testing and hear the sound of guests and team members.

• Previous experience in a Recreation or Resort environment.
• Previous pool chemist or pool technician experience.
• Knowledge of Hawaiian/Japanese language preferred.

Our resort operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and some shifts may start as early as 4:00 AM. Full-time requires full availability for any shift at any time, Sunday through Saturday.
