Grounds Maintenance Assistant - Grounds​/Snow​/Fleet - Per Diem

Who We Are

Healthcare facilities management, Maintenance, and Grounds keeping has the same purpose as any other maintenance department: to ensure optimal asset reliability and performance. We do this at The Elliot by proactively maintaining assets and infrastructures while also maintaining a respectable upkeep of the property.

Maintains and cares for hospital grounds in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Grounds Coordinator. Perform a variety of landscaping, maintenance and snow removal duties as assigned.

• Cuts and maintains lawns and grass.
• Rakes and maintains leaves, and cares for plants, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Performs snow removal activities such as shoveling in accordance with guidelines.
• Maintains and keeps campus grounds clean and free of debris for first impression and beautification.
• May perform basic repairs to outdoor furniture to maintain safe conditions.
• Maintains landscape power equipment in good operating condition.
• Stress safety as top priority.
• Informs Grounds Coordinator of any unsafe conditions.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and/or snow removal preferred.

• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to occasionally operate small powered landscape tools and equipment (lawn mower, weed whackers, etc.) safely.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to work outside in the elements.
• Ability to exhibit flexibility.
