Position Summary:
Our Hosts create a positive guest experience that begins with being friendly and welcoming. They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant by managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity, and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression on all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.

What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

Act as an ambassador for Eldorado Resort

Ensure that the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are clean and organized

Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly

Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section

Be aware of what is happening in each section of the restaurant while service is going

Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity

Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in Open Table

Fill out detailed special requests in Open Table for birthdays, anniversaries, VIPs, etc., and ensure that all fellow team members are informed

Communicate regarding reservations and updates with the kitchen to ensure all necessary preparations can be made

Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers when necessary

Have complete knowledge of the menu including allergens

Take to-go and room service orders and perform daily checks for room service trays

Coordinate with culinary team and Front Desk for daily amenity deliveries

Understand the payment system and be able to take payment for a guest

Follow lost and found procedures including collecting items and passing them on to the Manager on Duty or Front Desk (when open)

Other duties as assigned or required

What are we looking for?
To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:

Minimum 1-year experience in customer service and/or a restaurant is considered an asset

Minimum 16 years of age

Passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry

Positive attitude and a willingness to think outside the box

Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment

Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail

Strong oral and written communication skills

Experience with Squirrel and Open Table considered an asset

Valid Serving It Right certification

Must be available during the day on weekdays, as well as flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
