SSP Canada operates several restaurants throughout Kelowna International Airport, including:
White Spot, Ellison Field, Okanagan Vintner's Exchange, Tim Hortons, Subway, and retail stores.
This position is located in a secure airport environment and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required. All candidates must be legally authorised to work in Canada and must be able to provide the necessary government-issued documentation required for airport security clearance. Documentation will be reviewed during the onboarding process in accordance with Transport Canada regulations. Further information can be found at:
Here are a few things you can expect if you join our team as a bartender:
Greet guests in a timely, courteous, and friendly mannerUse recipes and practice portion control to mix, garnish, and present drinksInput orders into register at the point of sale and create a check for each guestReceive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executedMaintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar at all timesResponsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product qualityMust adhere to all Provincial, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests at all timesPerform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standardsOther duties as assignedSkills and Other Requirements
Minimum one year bartending experience required, including certification by province, federal, or local required training program.Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check and order & close out a check.Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.Serving it Right Certificate required.Diversity and Inclusion is a priority are an equal opportunities employer committed to engaging all of our people, so they feel valued and motivated; we champion diversity, promote inclusion, and ensure equality.
