We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel. Our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO
What will you be doing?
The Host/ Support position supports front-of-house and food service operations to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and efficient dining experience. This role includes hosting, food running, and expediting duties. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the associate maintains service flow, cleanliness, and guest engagement in a fast-paced environment.
Greet guests with a warm and friendly attitudeAssist in seating guests and managing waitlists using tools like Open TableAnswer basic guest questions about menu items, dietary needs, and restaurant servicesBe aware of special guest requests (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries) and communicate with the service teamMaintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance areaRun food from the kitchen to guests, ensuring plates go to the correct person without auctioning offOrganize and support the expo line to maintain food quality and presentation standardsCoordinate food timing and flow between kitchen and service staffRestock and maintain service areas such as the coffee station and passClear and clean tables quickly and reset them for the next guestsMaintain tidiness of all guest-facing and back-of-house areasEmpty garbage bins, handle recycling, and change linen bags as neededFollow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocolsUnderstand basic causes of food contamination and practice safe handlingAssist with in-room dining deliveries and banquet setups: including event setup & takedown, serving and participation in off-site eventsCommunicate guest feedback or special comments to servers and managementSupport team members during busy periods by anticipating needs and helping where necessaryHelp monitor table turnover and guest flow to maximize seating efficiencyUse basic functions of the POS system to support order entry or paymentStay informed on basic hotel information, restaurant layout, and special promotionsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managersWhat are we looking for?
